Bear, Diane and the Wildhorse Herd Welcome You to Wildhorse Ranch
Horses can’t talk but if you listen you can hear them speak
We are Horse People!
Come Live the Dream. We are not a business selling a product or service. We are an Experience. This is our life – who and what we are! Come “Ride Thru Time” with us. We are Old West through and through: boots, chaps and cowboy hats! 30 years of excellent service to our guests.
The West Lives here.
Together we are strong, working to create a Place of Peace where people can come together and understand life on a higher level. The Equine Evolution to Excellence is a blend of consciousness and horse sense designed to help people LIVE! The Warriors of old are said to have come back as great horses. Let them guide you on your journey to remember who you are, what you are and why you are here.
Our Goal and Mission is to help build better lives for people and horses!
Diane’s life long love and work with horses has never been for fame and certainly not for fortune. Her focus has always been on what is best for the horses, a voice for those who have none. The horses are her spirit guides as she is theirs.
Diane possess a depth of love, devotion and understanding that has no limit. Her ability to communicate, connect and understand animals borders on the supernatural. The ravens follow her talking excitedly all the while, to see what she has for them. The horses come to her when she calls, when they are not feeling well or something is wrong. They trust and rely on her to guard them. She will walk with, kneel beside them for hours in snow, rain, heat or cold ignoring her own pain and discomfort when they need healing. She cares for our old sears, wounds and injuries and puts us back together so we can carry on.
She never stops working to make this a better world for all living things. To this cause she has dedicated her life. When one of our old veterans had reached his last day and could go no further he found Diane to tell her. We went for a walk and I told Diane to leave now. As she walked away his eyes followed her and he softly whickered. Go with her I told him. His tired old body stayed with me but his spirit went on with her as always and forever. I can think of no greater love. Diane would never say these things about herself but we who know her best can.

Life has lead me down many rough roads and rocky trails. Taken me to many places. I have been and done many different things. I have been kissed by the sun and lashed by the snow and rain. I have lived some shining times and I have known despair. Above all, ” I have lived”. I have lived what many will only ever dream about. What I have lived is what I can share, I can do no other.
Bear has spent well over a half century as a trapper, hunter, guide, outfitter, cowboy and Indian. In the tradition of an Elder to his grandchildren, bear looks forward to passing down what he has learned from life on the Past frontier, to help guide them through life on the ever challenging new frontier of modern society.
Ride on forever….
Bear and Diane are life long learners, intrigued with the possibilities of “the quantum”, always looking for the magic and the mystery of “WHY”.

The Wildhorse Herd
Our herd of horses are sacred, a gift from the Great Spirit. Through the ages horses have paid a terrible price for choosing to serve mankind. Yet serve they have with loyalty, affection and honor. Some day we will know and understand one another on a much higher level. Then their sacrifice will at last be rewarded.
Over the years we have noticed that there are a lot of “throw-away horses”. They have been discarded for a variety of reasons: no longer pretty enough, not good enough, not fast enough, not trained enough, too sore, too old and the list goes on. We have become a voice for the horse who has none in this disposable world. We have bought many, many horses who were destined for the “meat truck”, taken them home and loved them back to life. Like anyone recovering from a bad experience horses need lots of tender loving care, good nutrition – extra feed, plenty of rest and no pressure. Between us and the healing power of the herd we have rehabilitated lots of horses. Some we still have, if they did not fit our program some went to new owners but we know that given a chance for life horses will give all their heart to you.
The Wildhorse Herd is a diverse mix of breeds, colors, sizes and personalities. We have bought horses from all over Western Canada and the US, sometimes we have gone to buy one horse and bought 3 instead because we just could not leave the others behind – what we have seen should not be legal to do to horses. So yes, we are advocates for horses because they have No Voice and No Choice.
I love that your life style is so amazing and the people around you are always smiling its how it should be everywhere.
